3. Note everything

Write everything down to be a good student. This includes homework, exam and test dates, project deadlines and competition dates, school events and family events, and so on. 4. A rough weekly schedule should be created

Although it is impossible to keep a schedule to the minute, it can be helpful to make one. Based on your recurring obligations, such as school, work, family and social events etc., create a rough weekly schedule. School, extracurricular activities, family and social events, religious activity.

Next, block out time each week to do homework and study. Your rough weekly schedule may state, for example, that you will work on the following:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7 pm – 9:30 pm

Tuesday and Thursday, 4 pm-7 pm

Saturday and Sunday, 2 pm to 5 pm

5. Eliminate distractions before they become distractions

Distractions are the biggest hindrance to your success in school. You can’t rely on willpower alone to overcome distractions. We are all limited in our ability to resist the temptations of the digital age.

Here are some ways distractions can be eliminated before they become distractions.

  • You can turn off notifications on your tablet/phone.
  • All distractions from your life should be deleted
  • Before you begin work, put your phone/tablet away in another room.
  • To unlock your phone/tablet, set a very long password
  • Restriction your Internet access
  • Only one tab should be open at a time in your browser
  • As you make these changes, find an accountability partner

A good posture can improve your mood and memory, as well as your ability to learn and retain information. 7. Do not multitask

Multitasking is a myth. Multitasking is simply switching between tasks. This can reduce your ability to study efficiently. When you are studying or doing homework, don’t try to multitask. Focus on one task at a time and you will get more done in a shorter time.

8. Encourage the belief that intelligence doesn’t have to be a fixed trait

Research has shown that students who believe they can be smarter do in fact become smarter. It is powerful to believe. Also, intelligence can be a trait you develop over time. You don’t have to be labeled “dumb” or “not intellectually inclined”. With the right mindset, you can become more intelligent.

9. Use short time blocks to accomplish your tasks

Most students are unable to focus for longer than 45 minutes. Therefore, I recommend that you work in 30- to 45-minute blocks followed by a 5- or 10-minute break. It is better to work in smaller blocks of time for most students than trying to concentrate for hours.

10. Exercise regularly

To be a better student, exercise.

Regular exercise can help you remember more information, improve your concentration, and make you more creative. These are in addition to other health benefits that exercise offers.

What does this all mean for students who want success in school? Include exercise as a regular part of your week’s routine. Three to four times per week, at least 20-30 minutes each, exercise.
